SUMMER -
Summer in Lake Placid is water sports, shopping, dining out, sun bathing, soccer, La Cross, and Iron Man. It is hiking, watching the stars, walking at night, boating, and laughter that you remember only as a child and singing on the dock. At Camp Bearberry, summer is as it's been on Placid Lake for the last 100 years. Summer is a forty five foot walk to the lake. It is sitting on the dock at waters edge, and it is a leap and a swim in 76 degree water, just before, doing it again. And it's the call of the loon, early, at dawn. It's the call of the loon at days end. Let us not forget the amazing sunrise and sunsets.
At Camp Bearberry, there is also available for your personal use, a 22 foot Bennington Pontoon Boat with seating for 11 people. You may view the summer history of Placid Lake, of its many historic camps, its osprey nests, and its secluded sand beaches. Summer in Lake Placid if boating.
Lake Placid is a busy place in the summer, and every effort should be made to book reservations, at whatever destination, early.
